The anti-immigration House Republicans who just pushed through a massive assault on immigration stand for a giant fraud. They claim to be patriots, acting out of a desire to protect America from an "invasion" of illegal immigrants. In reality, they are promoting an agenda that is thoroughly un-American, both in its goal and in its methods...
The real essence of the anti-immigrationists' argument is not that immigrants are unwilling to work, but that they are too willing to work, that they are so eager to work that they will come here and take "our" jobs--jobs that are supposed to be set aside, by governmental fiat, for American workers...
This is the welfare-state entitlement mentality of the left, adopted in a crudely nationalistic variation. The premise of the anti-immigration crusade is that native-born Americans have a right to be hired for menial jobs at high wages, not because they have the skills or initiative to perform those jobs productively, but simply because they were born in this country. But the idea that you have a right to a job and a paycheck, just as a reward for being born, regardless of your ability or willingness to do the work--isn't that the worst aspect of the welfare-state mentality of the left?...
Any real American ought to be insulted by this offer. The American dream is not about holding a make-work job set aside for you by a paternalistic government; it is about succeeding through your own effort. The American dream is not the cowering vision of a people who believe that they can never make it in the world if they are exposed to the demands of free competition; let's leave that protectionist fantasy to the French...

To Be Anti-Immigration Is to Be Anti-American
I'm too lazy to search through their articles for one that demands the minimum wage be raised.
Yes, we all need to be lectured by the Ayn Rand fanatics of TIA.
To free traitors, being "more productive" means accepting a third-world wage and standard of living.
Hate to break it to you but ILLEGAL aliens are dangerous. LEGAL immigrants are welcome.
The TIA is the same old tired screed of the "open borders" lobby that has brought us social and economic disaster - and perhaps for the future a terrorist national security disaster as well. The illegals send back about $20 billion to Mexico and prop up a corrupt and exploitive regime there. They also cost U.S. citizens as much as $45 billion in taxes for social welfare, prison incarceration, drug enforcement. Many school districts are facing collapse because they are overwhelmed by the illegal sunami. It's seldom mentioned that their cheap labor depresses wages for all American workers. It also retards advancement in the field of agriculture because farms could easily use technologically and mechanized state-of-the-art methods to harvest crops far quicker and more efficiently (and save consumers money) but they obviously won't make that investment when they can pay very little under the table to an inexhaustable army of peons. Fully 30% of the California prison inmates are illegals. To show how insane we've become as a society many states charge illegals the same low in-state tuition of residents while charging citizens from other states thousands more. Many also permit them to get driver's licenses and sneak them into the voting booths. It's beyond any doubt to anyone who wants to objectively look at the data that we have created a monster that is causing havoc - that will only continue to get exponentially worse as time goes by.
IMMIGRANTS legally move into a country in accordance with its laws. INVADERS invade a Country by violating its borders.By continuing to use IMMIGRATION and Illegal immigration, instead of invasion, we are proving some degree of legitimacy and validity to their idiotic blather.
Them or me?
Them.
Thanks

And this is pro-reason? What a load of BS.
