CNN and the Cheney X: Response to Complaint call to CNN hints it may have been intetntional

This is a wave file of a complaint call in to CNN Headline News. The CNN person claims the black X over Vice President Dick Cheney's face was an example of "freedom of speech". The CNN person says someone at CNN was "making a statement", and that Bush is a liar.

in related news, CNN today released an employee who was suffering from delusions after failing to take his medication. The exact reason for his release wasn't given by CNN.

It WAS intentional.

I always thought it was intentional. After all, we all know CNN is staffed with America-hating libs, and this didn't happen, for instance, during a cat food commercial or a silly "crime of the week" press conference. It happened when the VP was giving an important speech on a matter crucial to the future of the nation.

Could you fix the extra "t" in the word "intentional" in the title?

This was probably the same guy who was let go from Wal-Mart because of his anti-Christmas email.

Check out that link (wav file) to the phone call!

Unreal!

CNN, media liars, say: "Tell Cheney and Bush to stop lying!"

Its their (CNN's) "freedom of speech!"

This is fishy on a number of levels. First: Why call Headline News to ask about something that happened on another network? I'm guessing that if this call wasn't entirely staged, they bounced around random numbers at the CNN Center until they got someone to say what they wanted.

Not much additional info. It doesn't explain why a marketing firm is conducting the investigation or why they would ask Headline News about something that did not appear on Headline news (in case folks don't know, CNN and Headline News are two separate cable networks). The primary "source" on that Web site is a Team Hollywood press release.

Team Hollywood's claim to have been flooded with phone calls is also dubious. "What's up with this X on CNN thing? I'm confused. I know! I'll call a marketing consulting firm and ask them!"

Nothing on that page puts a dent in my point; 1) there's no evidence that this is anything other than a complete and utter fabrication; and B) that even if it's genuine, all it proves is that someone at another network shot off his mouth on the telephone. There is no reason to believe that the person on the phone, who answered the phone at Headline News, knew anything about what went on in the CNN control room.

Oh, and if there weren't enough reasons do doubt this story, this is the last paragraph of the press release:

CNN was caught off-guard at the company’s headquarters in Atlanta by the recording. The statements that were made through their Headline News desk are not acceptable and there are calls on the Internet for investigation by the FCC, the FBI and the Trilateral Commission.

The Trilateral Commission? Come on. This is a parody of a conspiracy theory. The Onion is more subtle.

That phone conversation between the woman caller and the jerk at CNN did take my breath away for a moment...and then I remembered:

The more I learn about the ENEMEDIA the less I fear the islamofascists.

1) there's no evidence that this is anything other than a complete and utter fabrication;

In the words of Mary Mapes regarding Rathergate, until proven false we have to assume that it is TRUE. So some lib has to offer up proof that it is a FAKE.

In the words of Mary Mapes regarding Rathergate,

Of course, when someone's been rightly mocked, derided, and ridden out of town on the proverbial rail, the way to REALLY get her is to adopt her standards.
