Confession of Senator Jay Rockefeller
Conservative Thoughts ^ | November 16, 2005 | John Kuethe

We have witnessed the onslaught of criticism from the Democrats on the pre-war intelligence leading to the Iraq war. We have listened to the unfettered Bush bashing coming from Democrats who spoke out in support of the pre-war intelligence and voted to go to war. We have the Clinton administration’s authorization of regime change in Iraq. Yet it is still Bush’s fault according to the Left.

Yesterday on Fox News Sunday Chris Wallace spoke with U.S. Senator Jay Rockefeller, vice chairman of the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. The conversation was particularly revealing as to what the Democrat Senator was doing in Syria in 2002.

WALLACE: Now, the President never said that Saddam Hussein was an imminent threat. As you saw, you did say that. If anyone hyped the intelligence, isn't it Jay Rockefeller?

SEN. ROCKEFELLER: No. The — I mean, this question is asked a thousand times and I'll be happy to answer it a thousand times. I took a trip by myself in January of 2002 to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria, and I told each of the heads of state that it was my view that George Bush had already made up his mind to go to war against Iraq — that that was a predetermined set course which had taken shape shortly after 9/11.

Fine men like Senator Rockefeller and Sandy Berger did what they had to do to defend the Democratic party. No self respecting newsman will question the loyalty of these two patriotic individuals. They're doing the right thing in the name of a return to power in the White House, Senate and House of Representatives. /sarcasm/

Big flip. I knew full well on the morning of 9-11-01 sometime between the first and second building collapse in New York City, that we would be taking out Saddam sooner or later, and I don't serve on any Senate Intel committees. My only surprise is that it took 18 months for the inevitable to happen. Any person with an IQ above room temp knew what was coming, and why it was more than justified.

The thing that I hate most about the Democrats is their incessant attempts to rewrite history. They are shameless liars.
