Jay Rock's Excellent Adventure

West Virginia Democrat Senator Jay Rockefeller, now the vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, has admitted to making a secret trip to the Middle East in the aftermath of 9-11 to warn leaders there that President George W. Bush was keen to invade Iraq.

"I took a trip by myself in January of 2002 to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria, and I told each of the heads of state that it was my view that George Bush had already made up his mind to go to war against Iraq – that that was a predetermined set course which had taken shape shortly after 9/11."

This is major revelation, and one wonders why it did not make it into any of the various reports or Washington Post charts. Here is a United States Senator, four months after the terrorist attacks of 9-11, traveling to the region, alone and under the cover of darkness, to warn various regional leaders that he was certain the President was really after Saddam Hussein.

Rocky: When he said that I dropped my coffee. Lucky it was in my thermal mug. My wife was watching in a different room and I asked her if I had heard it right. She said "I think he just admitted tipping off our war plans to the Syrians."

Isn't that a federal offense of some type? At the very least breech of senate rules, unethical conduct? What a sad pathetic POS.

Here is an e-mail I sent to both my Senators, and to Senator Roberts. I suggest modifications of this to be sent to your local senators.

Honorable Senator Allen,

This Sunday, Jay Rockefeller made an astounding admission on Fox News Sunday.

He said that in January of 2002, after 9/11 but long before the vote to authorize war in Iraq, that he went to Syria, and told the leaders there that Bush had already decided to go to war in Iraq.

Telling a country that is listed as a terrorist state, and is no friend of ours, that we are going to go to war against a then-friend of that country, with no proof, and so far as I can tell for no legitimate interest of the country, should be considered treasonous.

The Senate floor should be used to denounce Rockefeller for attempting to undermine U.S. foreign policy, correctly and constitutionally reserved to the Executive branch. He should be called to explain what evidence he had in January of 2002 that the decision for war in Iraq was already made, an assertion that even the Bob Woodward books refute.

And he should be asked what intelligence he had privy to at that time, classified information, that he used to make that warning to an enemy foreign leader. If there was ANY internal intelligence information that suggested the United States was considering going to war, this admission by Rockefeller should be used to indict him for leaking classified information to foreign leaders to undermine our country.

At the least, if he can't answer, he should be stripped of his seat on the intelligence committee. This should have happened last year when he refused to denounce the e-mails calling for the intelligence committee to be used for partisan attacks against the interests of our nation.

Sincerely,

PS: OSTT PING

Between his appearance and Deans appearance on MTP, I wanted to stab my TV and set it on fire! Dean lied so much in his set, I was losing count after my fingers and toes were done being used.
