After weeks and months of media induced martyrdom, President Bush finally attacked the Democrats for their dishonest attempts to rewrite history!
"The stakes in the global war on terror are too high and the national interest is too important for politicians to throw out false charges," the president said in his combative Veterans Day speech.
Defending the march to war, Bush said that foreign intelligence services and Democrats and Republicans alike were convinced at the time that former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.
"Some Democrats and anti-war critics are now claiming we manipulated the intelligence and mislead the American people about why we went to war," Bush said.

Be really refreshing if people supposedly on our side could show some intellectual and emotional disciplin. Sniping at your own side all the time does NOT help us advance the agenda
Too late for Bush, the the barn is afire, the horse is gone and the insurance has lapsed. Spent too much time dwaddling in Crawford when he should have been putting out the fire.
Here's Scrappleface's take (satire):

Sorry ,to say agree.I sure hope I am wrong.
Bush chose the in your face Miers thing which was the last straw for conservatives, then his enemies pounced.
One needs to dance with the one that brung you, not the slick that is waiting for easy prey.
No.
The base seems to be firing up around the Alito nomination and now this WOT offensive. I don't think it's to late for Bush. The base, desperate for conservative articulation and representation IMV will gladly take it now that it comes along.
As for the centrists out there who need to be convinced about a more rightward agenda, maybe it's too late for them. They are the dawdlers.
FYI:Rasmussen Poll: Bush @ 46% (Highest in 1 month)
BTW, if you want to see a barn afire, look at France.
There is no help for uninformed pessimists. When bush was on vacation, so was everyone else in America. There is no point in fighting back when no one is listening, and furthermore Cindy Sheehan was such a weak sister, she did not deserve the dignity of a response.
My word - How would YOU all do if you had:
Three major huricanes with all their aftermaths, nominations searches to look for qualified nominees, trips to different nations for their meetings, plus all the daily garbage from the DemoncRats who are daily working to turn people away from the GOP so they can win big in the 2006 elections!
While Bush has appointed people to help him with these things - he still is responsible for trying to oversee it all! There have been more major events during his administration than any current President!
I think you'd be overwhelmed and preocupied also!
Wake up people! Have they deceived you also - that you can't see what they are doing...
The DemocRats are already working for the races in 2006 And - 2008 races to trash GOP members with questions about ethics! THAT is their plan!!!
They are trying to cause people to think Republicans are all unethical and disorganized! They did that to President Reagan also! They hated him when he was in office too and painted him as a dunce - does that sound like what they're trying to paint President Bush like??
It's not an accident that the media and the Demos have been so focused on the CIA leak to trash Cheny, Bush, his Administration and any Senator or Congressman that they are sneaky and unethical when they let a true treasoner get away with treason:

You hear very little about that!!
Please read all that President Bush HAS done:

I think Libby was the final straw. That Camp David weeken, plans of war were made, if not sooner.
