Why did Prop 73 Lose?

I hate Monday morning quarterbacking. But in this case I felt it necessary to comment, because we came so close to victory. The truth is, Christian conservatives have only ourselves to blame for Proposition 73, the Parental Notification initiative for not passing.

I don't buy this. It seems to me that anyone with a grain of decency would not need to be blitzed with ads to realize that children should not have surgery of any kind without their parents knowing about it. And that's without even considering what abortion is and does. The bottom line is not so comforting: California is an evil place.

Didn't help that it happened to be on the ballot with the Governor's reform initiatives. Hundreds of millions were spent to convince voters to vote no on all measures and this one went down with them.
On it's own or with some less contentious measures it would have passed.
