So what are they saying, that the dead bodies should have been bluer?

Well, it's been decades since my last chemistry class, but I was able to sort of understand those articles. Thanks for not sending me to a nasty site for the info.

I only know it well as a watercolor pigment that stains like the dickens. I can see how it might form naturally if the right chemicals were sprayed around a room in a liquid suspension, and penetrated the walls or floor enough to stay there, but gas is another matter altogether (not the proper vehicle, nothing to make it stick?).
