That would explain the foul, manure-like stench emanating from my PC when I opened the link to Amazon to read the preview chapter.
Thanks for the additional info. You da man.
Its called doing their job for them. They don't do the simplest research on a story before they run with it and the results of their laziness and political agenda gets into the living rooms of people all over the world.
Incredible that he is still stuck on stupid!
I think a great many here would be interested in this thread, and the link to the transcript...I wouldn't have found it unless someone pinged me..Can we put it in FRONT PAGE, or maybe even a BOX for a day or so?..Thanks..
Gen. Robinson, I salute you, sir!!
That's an amazingly swift bit of research. You watch something on air, four hours later, you are prepared to run pages and pages of detailed criticism of the document. How does somebody do that that quickly?
How telling that the Old Herd Media can't even contemplate organizing some original , coherent thoughts in the time of four hours. I suppose that if someone gave them a tip that 2+2=4, they'd have to call some leftist interest groups to learn how to interpret it, call their friends at the NYT to make sure it wouldn't help Bush, and then craft up the script accordingly.
Meanwhile to any slob with a pair of firing synapses, it's old new and irrelevant, and obviously spun by the time it makes it through approved channels.
These people are stuck in concrete. Their world is gone.
Welcome to the internet age, Danny Boy. That must be quite a challenge for someone who apparently can't even figure out time zones.
The anchor appeared to have softened his attitudes toward some (unamed) web authors but remained suspicious about "those bloggers who were partisan politically affiliated and/or had ideological axe to grind with us" in the exposition of the document scandal.
BWAHAHAHAH! CBS runs a bogus story because they have a ideological axe to grind and apparently THAT'S no problem - it's only a problem when your opponents have said axe.
That's called hypocrisy, Danny Boy.
Methinks maybe you did catch one too many coconuts in the noggin covering hurricanes over the years...
Words fail me.
THIS IS A LIE! They are referring to this because MSNBC went to FREEREPUBLIC and saw that Buckhead's post was timestamped "before the show had ended". The morons forgot to check that the time was PACIFIC STANDARD TIME, not eastern. Hell it says "PST". So a year later we have Dan Rather himself, disgraced, repeating lies and paranoia.
And good riddance.
But Kalb is wrong yet again---the pages and pages of criticism didn't appear within four hours, but in the day or two immediately following. There was one really damning bit on Little Green Footballs, where someone retyped the memo in MS Word and printed it onto a transparent overlay, which fit onto the copy of the original perfectly. But I didn't see it until the day after the CBS broadcast, or maybe even the day after that.
What appeared within the first four hours were a few knowledgeable people saying "This doesn't look right. Someone's trying to pull a fast one". Apparently Kalb finds it suspicious that there are people out there that know more than the journalists (who were trying to pull a fast one).
Rush is playing parts of the interview now. He ran the Kalb quote about Jim but did not correct it.
I remember a FAR Side cartoon from long ago.
It was a dinosaur convention with a stage and podium, a dinosaur speaker and a dinosaur audience.
The caption read something like:
"Times are tough gentlemen. The average temperature has fallen 30 degrees and we have brains the size of peas."
Yes, their world is gone.
Wow. Four glaring factual errors in three sentences.
