Two things:

1) Congratulations to the school for standing on solid, moral, principle.

2) A BS article in that the liberal writter doesn't understand that the child can not have two parents of the same sex. The writter must understand that the child would not have been born with "parents" such as this.

We must ramember to lover the sinner (all of us) but not endorse and/or condone the sin...

The title could read "Two lesbian women deprive girl of a father. Girl not allowed to attend private school due to parents behaviour.” But that wouldn't get across the liberal agenda.

"....School administrators learned of the parents' relationship this week after Shay was reprimanded for talking to the crowd during a football game...." I guess Shay was talking butch to someone? I guess that school better be prepared for the gay deluge.

This would benefit from being in that school.

I wonder what her view of religion will be now. May have lost the opportunity to influence her.

I think the kid certainly got educated about a certain kind of Christian.

The kind that think it's a good idea to punish children for the sins of their parents. At least up to several generations.

I swear, I wonder how many people who aren't advocating expelling the student would get out of a pool if they saw somebody else pee in it.

These two dykes have used these innocent children to promote their agenda. The school just prevented them from using other people's children for the same purpose.

Oh God, just when I thought we could breathe easier because God's best friend FReeper "Bob Celeste",another Scripture quoting homophobe, seemed to finally be gone from this forum, here comes YOU with your holier-than-thou righteous Islamic form of "Christianity",
and you expect everyone to salute it. Take a hike.

A 14-year-old student was expelled from a Christian school because her parents are lesbians, the school's superintendent said in a letter.

Well, at least they didn't burn her at the stake.

I'm glad the parents were punished for putting their kid in a Christian school. The two shouldn't have been allowed to get their hands on a child in the first place.

It certainly wasn't the smartest thing to do. They obviously want her to have a christian based education and now she will be forced into the public school system. Why punish her?

Its a private school. They can do whatever they want.

Punishing a girl for her parents' sins? That is not very Christian to me.

1) Congratulations to the school for standing on solid, moral, principle.

"...engage in practices "immoral or inconsistent with a positive Christian life style"

I'll congratulate them if you can show where they forbid children of divorced parents or worse, children who's parents have divorced and remarried. Until then it sounds like another case of selective morality to me.

Everybody, look on this page from the schools website.

http://www.ocschools.org/about/admissions.cfm

Apparently they require a "Family Interview". I wonder if the interview took place if the parents lied to get her in the school

This link has a little bit more info on the story. It actually makes the school look worse.

Hurting a kid for the actions of their parents is wrong.

By doing this the school has taught this child that christians hurt people for the actions of others.

Note the above is the motto of socialist/liberals, or need I remind you of the movement for 'slave reperations'.

I would not be suprised it more than just a lawsuit is filed against the school.

From a great distance and little information, expulsion seems like an extreme step. But the story does illustrate that it is becoming more and more mandatory PC to accept the use of the word "parents" in that context. They're asking us to accept that configuration of persons, not only as a family, which I can see - an unconventional family, formed by unconventional circumstances - but as parents and their children. The two women have been together 22 years and one or other of them has given birth to three children. It's not illegal, I don't even know if it is immoral, but live your lives, don't ask the world to change it's norms.

I expect "parents" to be a husband and a wife. Use different words otherwise.

Perhaps if we went back to the good Christian practice of shunning, we would have less sinning in our society. Jesus said that Christians are IN the world, but we should not be OF the world (John 17:13-15). We should not have close association with blatant sinners. "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkeness? What harmany is there between Christ and Satan? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?" (2 Corinthians 6:14-15).

At the risk of ticking off some here, this is just plain wrong.

The girl did nothing wrong. And to punish her for some percieved wrong of her mother is just plain wrong.

Just damn.

If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...

Last I checked, no one had a "right" to attend a private school. A private school can make up it's own rules. Since this one is a Christian school, it should surprise no one that they would not allow people who pervert the meaning of the word family.

As far a the gay thing? Screw whomever you wish, just stop involving children in your perverted lifestyle, and expecting everyone else to accept it.

Punishing the girl? Not really. I am sure there are a great many fine public schools in the area that promote the homo-perve lifestyle as normal. She can attend one of those.

There are two problems here. The first is that the school accepted the child in the first place without performing due diligence OR that the parents chose to mislead the school to the point of criminal fraud.

Once the child was accepted, the case becomes very different, because the child develops relationships with both classmates and teachers. Uprooting the child at that point is a cruel and destructive thing to do.

Personally, I would have kept the kid and filed charges for criminal fraud with the provision that the parents could pull the kid and the charges would be dropped.

The distinction is important. Neither the school nor the child should be the focus of action here; it should be the parents who misrepresented themselves to the school. Legal action should be taken accordingly.
