Actually, this meeting at his sons school, was the culmination of many request in writing to make Mr. Parker aware of these subjects being discussed, and many attempts to set up meetings. He finally got one, and firmly but politely refused to leave until he got an answer from the school board. It wasn't just the one meeting, IOW, it was the only face to face meeting, occurring after months of requesting a meeting, and after getting the run around for months, Mr. Parker politely told them he would not, as a parent, be put off again.
