Grandmother stranded in Ninth Ward

Email: yankeebelle@peoplepc.com

Subject: My Hurricane Story -- missing/stranded

Story: Please help. My grandmother and uncle were in the ninth ward. They were at 6305 Burgundy St at the corner of Tricou, one block from Jackson Barracks on the Orleans Parrish side. We last heard from them on Monday at 4am as the water began rising into the house. They were moving upstairs. My grandmother, Elaire Schulz, is 81 yrs old, caucasian, grey hair, brown eyes, 5'2", appx 100lbs, and has low blood sugar. She is in danger if she has no food. My uncle, Grant Schulz Sr., is 57 yrs old, caucasian, salt and pepper hair, brown eyes, 5'11", appx 175 lbs, and recently had open heart surgery. I can only hope that they have been rescued but I fear because rescues are ongoing that they are stranded and will perish without medical help.

Please call or email Colette Leirer at (336) 364-1840 yankeebelle@peoplepc.com

Subject: My Hurricane Story -- rescue needed

Story: Disabled woman with multiple mylomia at 1343 Coliseum. She is extraordinarily intelligent and has been doing a good job of coping, but needs rescue now. Does NOT want to go to Oshner, but to Baton Rouge. Is phobic about it. Please, please, please could someone go get her! She may come across as angry and hostile, but is really a nice person. Just be patient, please.

Apparently, someone in authority is reading the blogs and checking on at least some of the people identified there.

It's truly heartbreaking to read those posts. Prayers for the stranded and for our troops and rescue workers.
