Although I am a conservative person by nature, being a native of Maine, I am also an independent thinker. Being objective is a native trait for those of us that live in close quarters in the twilight of winter, but in Katrina’s aftermath, my eyes have been opened wide to America’s greatest threat—liberalism.
Michael Savage recently wrote a book titled “Liberalism is a Mental Disorder.” After taking a very cursory look into the blogosphere, one doesn’t’ have to go far to see the hatred that liberals carry in their hearts that can only be described as some sort of psychosis. For many years now, I have heard the President’s opposition selling themselves as merely good Americans with “differing opinions.” Liberals may have differing opinions, but good Americans? Nothing could be further from the truth. To be fair, I will allow you to draw your own conclusions.
Below are some of the posts I have capture on the blogs, op-ed pages. Keep in mind, these are not just ultra-left kooks, but some are considered mainstream politicians; politicians that people actually elect to office:

In regards to the President releasing the oil from the strategic reserves: “Brilliant move by Bush Junior, the boy who couldn't find oil in Texas. Unfortunately, most U.S. vehicles run on GASOLINE MADE FROM REFINED OIL. So which part of the Bush cabal gets to pocket taxpayer money off of this scam? Took him a whole day to figure out the shady business deals behind that one.” – CLN (Huffington Post)

It goes on and on. Page after page of hatred, self-centered, misdirected vileness. I cannot help, but wonder how these good Americans are helping our country. I can imagine that as we speak, they are suiting up and heading to the disaster area to work side-by-side with those that need it most.
Rush Limbaugh called these people the “Hurricane of Hate.” I can see why. Being a “good American” is more than protesting against what you believe is an immoral adminstration, from the comfort of your den, or dormitory. Being a good American is rolling up your sleeves and helping those when they need it the most despite their political affiliation, ideology, or skin color. It is getting beyond those things and looking at one another as Americans.
President Bush did not cause Hurricane Katrina. His opposition to the Kyoto Protocol, the war in Iraq, his close ties with “big oil” or his belief in God did not unleash the forces of nature to wreak havok on the Gulf, as the liberal ilk believe in their hearts—Only someone with a mental disorder could draw that conclusion.
The people of the Gulf region need our support the way "good Americans" suport one another. And yes, do I dare say it, need our prayers; the President does too.
I'd have thought that being drunk was the appropriate trait in those circumstances.

Great post. I've been amazed by the hatred from the "compassionate" left. Blaming Bush for the hurricane, rejoicing that Trent Lott lost his home.... pure hatred.

The absurdities they've foisted upon us esp. since the '60s all pointed to their psyhological problems (never mind emotional problems).

I add liberals ALWAYS see issues and events in terms of emotion. They are emotionally stunted.
OK, this graph of the last 17,000 + years shows that we are now within the normal boundries of typical climate change. However, natural events can cause sudden violent changes in the temperatures. There is currently no evidence we are ging through such an event.
The recent hurricane has really pointed out just how the environmental policies of the left have rendered us energy-less. Gas prices will get so high in the near future that some people may not be able to go to work. It is bound to adversely affect the entire American, and thus the world's, economy.
I don't think that the government and industrial muckety-mucks will stand by and let the economy go down. When the environmental roadblocks start being eliminated, and Judge Roberts is affirmed to the Supreme Court, it may push some of the leftist lunitics over the edge, and they will start doing violence.
We will see soon.
