In my opinion India has a good Defence forces, they train and operate in varied conditions, they are well disciplined and are currently undergoing a massive modernisation. What they lack is the political will (can be ascribed to pacifist populace=democracy).
Historically India has had a comparatively active role. India has one of the largest contigents for UN, they liberated Bangladesh (recognised globally, even by Pakistan..lol as a soviergn country). Independent India fought wars with China, Pakistan, Portugal(liberation of Goa). It landed troops in Sri Lanka and Maldives to help maintain stability. Helped sustain Northern Alliance in Afghanistan long before 911.

You seem to have a great feel for markets -- any idea how the NO disaster is going to affect the economy? ( and yeah, I know this isn't a financial thread but I read some of your comments on some that were and you seem to know what you're talking about) Anyhow, if you have an opinion, I'd be curious. Thanks.
