It is strange how the media can play tricks on you. I don't know how this happened, but all of a sudden, GOP states are being called red states. I think we should give red back to the left, it is a color that suits them. One can only wonder if the media was conscious of the connection between the left and the color red when they decided to make red the color for the GOP. This is not like it is some kind scred tradition, it is something that was made up for the 2000 presidential election and should be undone. Therefore, for your viewing plesure, I have made my corrected red/blue map of the US with a more logical color association.

The Blue States should change the spelling of their name to "Bleu States"--- because they want to surrender like Frenchmen.
They could be the rainbow colored states and make themselves even more gay-friendly.

I remember in Bush v. Gore the MSM stated that red was traditionally used for the challenger and blue for the incumbent.
The colors should have been reversed in this election but I imagine the MSM didn't want Kerry shown in his true colors.
I agree with the article 100%. Red is the color of the commie left.
They are re-wrapping themselves. Dodging the implications of "liberal" (they prefer progressives) and "red."
The tradition of using red for the challenger and blue for the incumbent (or party thereof) goes back awhile, but 2000 is the first time I recall people referring to "red states" and "blue states". Once that terminology came in, keeping with the old tradition would have confused things since many states that were "solid red" in 2000 would become blue and vice versa.
