Good read. I'd never heard of Michael Yon before. Here is a pic of LtCol Kurilla from 2001 (when he was still a Major)

Thanks for the link. Got him book-marked into favorites.

Wish we had more reporters like him.

Anyone know where I can get a log of MSM Weasels registered at the Bagdad Hilton? (or whatever posh digs they're hiding in today).

I find Yon to be the best journalist on the ground in Iraq.

Take a look at his archived articles... well worth the time.

Prayers for both Kurilla and Yon!

> LTC Kurilla got shot 3 times. He's alive and well and in good spirits but that's a hard blow for his men.

>Broke his right femur. It's a miracle his artery didn't rupture. he's a bad ass.

>I wouldn't be suprised if he hooks a phone up in his room and runs the battle from there.

>me: ambushed ?

>Chasing 2 attackers. He was leading the charge like always, the 2nd attacker just turned and burned. Got lucky and hit the Man. Just plain luck.

I send my best hopes to LTC Kurilla and his men.

Time to pray, folks. From what I've seen in Yon's reports, this man is not only a fine officer but an absolute certified bad@$$(please excuse my French).

Post 4 indicates he'll recover nicely, but pray anyway!

An Infantry soldier in the same mold as G.S. Patton, Chesty Puller, Adm Nimitz, etc. just BA all. If he survives this war, watch Stars fall on his shoulders.

Thanks for the ping!

Michael Yon: Jungle Law

Here's where I started reading... some of the most gripping, chilling stuff I've read from the war. There's a thread about it here on FR: Jungle Law (AMAZING report from Iraq.

I've made Mr. Yon's blogsite a weekly visit.

Sorry, I was so awed by this excellent reporting, I clicked "post" before I finished my thoughts.

May God wrap his arms around this wonderful Soldier, and give him comfort and peace. Prayers and warm thoughts for his family as they endure this. Thank you, LTC, for your excellent service and dedication, and for your sacrifices.

Draw nearer to God, as He draws near to you.

JK
