What message do we send, when we are fired upon and instead of fighting back, we weigh anchor and run? I have complete faith in our armed services, men and women, but is politics hamstringing our ability to defend ourselves?

Mount an invasion? That's what it would be.
That's what sucks about the war on terror. The enemy doesn't play by the rules while we have to.

That's what sucks about the war on terror. The enemy doesn't play by the rules while we have to. Jordon is one of our allies in the WOT but it is also a poor Arab nation. It has a peace treaty with Israel. So, Jordon isn't very popular in the Arab world and is the home of a sizable portion of displaced Palestinians. Now the Jordains has a hard enough time as is and we don't need to go in their and make their life more miserable. Doing so will only create more Jihadis.

Aw shucks, J. Worthington Witfellow banned? And I though JWW was simply naive, as opposed to a troll. Hope this isn't permanent.

I have seen his posts. I was right their too. I ignored the inflamtory commentary (if there was any) and responded to the meat of statements. ignore the rhetoric and work with the facts.

Actually, your trolling makes you look bad.
Sorry to chime in so late on this, but your moronic attempts to sound intelligent remind me of animals mimicking human movement.
Tell your friends at DemUn, their trolling is but a minor annoyance, and we will always spot you.

He was baiting hoping to get comments that would make FR look bad.
Check his posts on the first page of this thread.
I hope his banning is permanent and painful.

Unfortunately, a Jordanian citizen was badly injured in that attack, IIRC; prayers for his family. And Al Qaida has claimed responsibility.

Yep.
Had it hit the ship, that would be one thing, but the ship was completely missed.
And a Jordianian citizen was hit by the rocket. I could have sworn it was two, but oh well. We don't really have a dog in the fight....

He was acting off of raw emotion. He may of been intoxicated. I had to consider the possibility that he may of never been outside of the country and didn't understand how international relations really worked. If he traveled outside of the country he would of been the example of the "Ugly American".
