It will peter out over time, but they are immune to political developments at this point, and the key variable is the level of support for them, which is declining among all groups.

Once the Sunni community turns away from their tacit support/indifference to terrorists, to hating them as much as other Iraqis do ... THEN we will see an end to the violence.
