“Empowering police officers to conduct random searches of individuals without suspicion of criminal wrongdoing constitutes a gross infringement of the fundamental rights and liberties of persons living in a free society,” cried Donna Lieberman, executive director of the NYCLU. She said the searches will do little to enhance public safety. Just another fascist move by a Republican mayor! Here at the NYCLU we work to protect your liberties, not strip them. This is beyond the pale!”

How did I get on this Body Cavity Ping? I have a body and my cavities were filled with that stuff that looks like silver, but isn't. I'm too poor for gold fillings.

Different Cavities you say?

I'm so glad that the NYCLU is on the ball and defending the right of persons not to be subjected to body cavity searches. I do so hope that someone who's refused a body cavity search because he's got a couple good sized bombs in his cavities has the opportunity to shake hands with the NYCLU -- forgetting of course that the string from his bombs is not long enough for him to extend his hand without removing the detonator and . . .

Explosion of another kind

Good job, Chris. Who among us doesn't like a hands-on government? Thanks for bringing us the hole story.

Yes, for you. You need to put this in humor, or state it in the title.

Glad you didn't enjoy it then. And yes...if you scroll down the page, the piece is clearly marked satire. To each his own. My advice: don't read it.

Is it true that the bookings from San Francisco
to JFK have tripled since they instituted these
searches?

So with your logic: If I jumped off a bridge, it would be okay for you to do it?

Unfortunately, I read about 1/2 of it. :-(

Fortunately, I didn't read all of it. :-)
