"My vet is excellent. He really cares about my pets and me. I have been taking my pets to him for over 25 years, since he began practice here. He also treats wild animals for free when the police or animal control call him about a wounded bear, eagle, etc."

Good for you, keep him.

Also, tell him what I said and my impressions and about how happy you are that he is your vet. I wish I had one like him.

I found a dog once crawling (couldn't stand up, no obvious injury) down the side of the road and picked him up and took him to the vet. The vet said that he had severe heartworms and the only thing to do was to 'put-him-down' and it would cost me $50,00 to do so. I looked at that poor dog and said do it. I recieved his bill two days later. POS vet!

I will always keep my vet until he retires. He has some younger vets there who are also great.

I saw a dog hit by a car on the highway. It was on the other side going in the opposite direction. The driver did not stop. I made a quick U-turn and rushed back and jumped out to get the dog before someone else hit it. I did not know if it was dead or alive. I rushed it to my vet.

They came and got him out of my car and took him into the emergency area. My vet examined him and told me he was dead. I was so upset. My vet told me that the dog did not suffer, that he had died instantly. I had described what I had seen when the dog was hit.

He did not charge me a cent. He just felt bad and told me I had tried.

He knows how much I think of him. He is the greatest. When I was in nursing school my personal cat, PittyPat, had cancer of the ears. He had to amputate them. She was old then and I was afraid she would die on the operating table. He allowed me to stand by and watch the operation so I could be there if she died. That operation gave her one more year of life. Then, she began having tarry stools one night. I called the vet. He called me back and told me to meet him at the hospital. He checked her and said he could give her a shot of Vit. K to stop the bleeding and give her a transfusion, but that she was at the point of suffering. I held her and cried as he put her to sleep with an injection. I got a sympathy card the next week. Oh, and that night was his wedding anniversary and he and his wife had just started celebrating when he had to call me. What a guy!
