Damn! That's very interesting. However, I agree with others who say that a nuclear device that was simply "hidden" for over four decades without any type of upkeep would probably be a dud.
It would be a dud, but I doubt there is/was no upkeep.
A decaying nuke might not reach critical mass if attempted to detonate, but probably could be made into a great dirty bomb. Yikes!
