Enough with the negativity, already
Canada Free Press ^ | Thursday, July 7, 2005 | Klaus Rohrich

God, to listen to the Democrats, you’d think the United States was a fascist juggernaut, while the so-called Iraqi insurgents and their al Qaeda cohorts were brave freedom fighters seeking to liberate their precious homeland from a force more evil than Darth Vader. I am beginning to wonder if people like Howard Dean, Richard Durbin, Patrick Leahy, Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton are attempting to establish a government in absentia with their constant proclamations about how the U.S. is guilty of crimes against humanity or some such tripe. The fact is the U.S. is at war and for a sitting official of the government to make statements like those emanating from the mouths of Durbin and his friends one would get the impression that they are rooting for the other side.

Now don’t get me wrong. I am not advocating forcing these people to be silenced or charging hem with treason, as some are advocating. I think that the American voters will take care of that next election, thank you very much. But one would think that individuals who have had political careers would be more circumspect in their pronouncements regarding the actions of their government-particularly during times of war. Dick Durbin’s now famous slander of U.S. troops behaving like "Nazis" must be one of the most ignorant pronouncements to come from the mouth of any politician, left or right, since Richard Nixon said "I am not a crook."

Why would you think that?
Kennedy has been elected over sixty times now (it seems).

This is not my article. I work at Canada Free Press, but this is Klaus' piece. ;) Address questions to letters@canadafreepress.com

But, to answer you regardless, when push really comes to shove, most Americans do whats right. I can't say the same for my own country always unfortunately.

Yes, I know that. It's common practice around here to talk back to the article's writer, even though the post is addressed to a person who posted the article. Sorry if you thought I was questioning you.

Thanks for your compliment, but when does push really come to shove? Kennedy, et al, have been pushing for years, and no one has told them to shove it, yet.

Alright. Sorry, was just a bit confused. Push comes to shove when there is a true national disaster. Of course, then the bickering starts over the best way to react...

And I have seen a few people tell Kennedy to shove it. As I am sure you have too.
