Dr. Zin has thoughts in this open letter to the International Press. The mullahs are trying to censor them out of existence. They are blocking IP addresses. This tells us that he says something important. Ergo, you must read them. Right here. Right now. However, he asked all the bloggers of the world to post his letter, because the mullahs and ayatollahs cant block us all. So I am reprinting this below. Read it.
Your profession is a noble one. A free press is foundational to a free society.
In challenging powerful institutions to answer the hard questions others fear to ask, journalists have led to the collapse of corrupt leaders and helped ensured our democracy. You have done so by reporting the truth in spite of the threats and objections of those in power.
Reporting from Iran is dangerous. ...

What does a "free press" have to do with Iran...?
Needless, I shall read the posts and feel bad for the good people of Iran. I will watch like the rest of the world as the mullahs obtain nuclear weapons and delivery systems over the next year and dictate their terms to us.
There will still be no call to arms in the west, more likely terms of our surrender. Bloggers do not make revolutions, only noise.
Iran must be changed from within, all the words in the world wont stop a man with an ak47 from gunning you down. The west can not even fight forces that have attacked us openly without causing fracture of decades old political alliances.
Arm, resist and openly revolt. Otherwise accept your fate; blogger background noise notwithstanding.
Iran is on its own, until the first launch of a nuclear device in our general direction.
Sorry.

Man! who peed in you post toasties?!!
Grassroots activism has always been at the root of change. There are tons of Iranians who yearn for the same freedoms we take for granted.
I wish them well (and you, too)

Grassroots grow where the grass grows. If you want my view, I would change Iran tonight, it is only a view, not a change.
Change must initiate in Iran, if revolt starts then possibly we can send aid... Possibly.
Otherwise, it is all just words, words directed against the grassroots in Iran, carrying Kalishnakov's against anyone who does dare to oppose them there. The regime is full of killers, and they are not shy like videogeekers hiding on the web. Scream your bloody ass off, but two in the hat shuts you down fast.
We can not fight to free those who will not first fight to free themselves. Even then we likely can not, given our fractured politics.
Do not encourage allies to rise up and be slaughtered as we watch on CNN and send them only words.

We will be at war with Iran before the end of the Bush administration.

It is possible they will try to influence the 2008 cycle, but they will be technologically hindered. Development of viable nuclears and delivery systems is complex and time-dependant. It is not possible to dictate technological "prowess" regardless of such knowledge or fanatic desire. Things are what they are, and all things take the time nature dictates..
They know well that we will crush them in a day should they go the WMD route without the cover of China and/or Russia.
These alliances are in progress this very day.
We shall all see, even those who do not want to.
We all see the light.
Pray I am a fool.

Of course, anything can happen... but I predict that Bush will not trust his successor to deal with Iran. It depends on what happens using other means. But the "election" of the hard-liner former hostage-taker bodes ill.
I don't think we have the boots to do much of an invasion but it's a good thing we have a navy, and an air-force.

We lack the political will to finish up in Iraq; daily the rats move people closer to accepting another great Vietnam type "victory" for their party. Granted they are shameless treasonous fools who seek to debase our power and make us more vulnerable, but we are a democratic republic and will have to accept the will of the majority, even if the rats tag together a majority of pacifist fools and cowards and communists.
All the political discourd here today is what has emboldened Iran. They shall seek alliance with Russia or China, to live under the protection of their substantial nuclear deterrent force. Then they shall announce to the world their terms, part of which will be the closing of the Gulf of Oman to US bound tanker traffic.
Europe will surrender to their terms, the frayed alliances will be finally severed, and America will again stand alone in the world. This may well all boil down to what India chooses to do.
Bleak scenario, but that is what I see happening.

You may be right. It is the people of Iran that are the joker in the pack. Little do they know that the weight of the world may be riding on their shoulders. And that if they don't step up they may be vaporized. Apocalyptic, but if these freaks are as determined to do Israel in as they sound, not so farfetched.
