Then you're right - but unfortunately, many Islamic countries don't live in current times. There the organization of minor tribes which occurred during the period of transition from hunter-gathering to farmed surplus, they have lived under Khanates and Emirates. Some of them got whacked by the British Empire and the Russian Empire and others, but despite the arrival of the telegraph and the District Health Officer, little changed. They live in the Middle Ages to those of us in the 20thC. That's why they are like they are and why the world is like it is.

Honestly - do you think they have a view on the current organization of the Middle East, or can compare and contrast that region with the G7 nations ? How many can go down the street and buy a decent current affaires magazine - in Arabic (yeah I know you can't buy any in English either). You'd be surprised what they weren't aware of, things we take for granted.

I realize not EVERY Islamic person is violet. Some, like a lot of us, just want to raise our families in peace.
