I'd be interested in your comments on the other historical inaccuracies in the movie "Elizabeth". All Hollywood films contain inaccuracies, some of them massive; Oliver Stone's "Alexander" was in large part fiction. Even a film based on an historical event like Mel Gibson's "Mrs. Soffel" (from the mid-80's) neglected to mention that when Mel Gibson's character escaped from prison with the warden's wife (played by Diane Keaton), he killed two people in the escape.

I remember seeing Sergeant York many years ago on a black and white TV. The whole family watched it together and enjoyed it. Those were different days back then, when daytime TV broadcast Amos and Andy, Robin Hood with Richard Greene, The Millionaire, Queen for a Day.
