I read the whole statement and you are wrong. Do you work for Pepsi or own a lot of Pepsi stock or something??
"Yet to see us frequently stub our fingers on the international business and political stage is deeply troubling."
The Pepsi President was clearly taking a swipe at US policies and not just the business people. It seems pretty stupid for the head of a company that relies on the US consumer to do such a thing. I don't have any idea why the head of a corporation wants to interject politics into their speeches
maybe it is similar to the artist or movie star that uses their microphone they were given because of an unrelated talent to try to influence politics. Make a political statement and 50% of the people are going to disagree with you. Many will choose not to buy your product. Why someone that is responsible for selling a product would complain about the politics of half of the population is beyond me but I suspect it is pure ego.
I dont particularly like boycotts and wont participate in this one. I do enjoy watching these people sweat it out though. If I were the chairman of the board of a company my first rule to officers in my company would be the shut your mouth about politics. Go become a politician if you want to talk politics (or go start your own private company) but as long as you are given a microphone while the head of this company, shut up. It can only hurt business.
