I hesitate, ever, to send pleas for money, but this is a life and death situation. A friend of yours and mine, Andy Stephenson, has pancreatic cancer and desperately needs life-saving surgery, but has no health insurance. Through nothing short of a miracle, a friend of Andy's at Democratic Underground has helped him to get into Johns Hopkins where they are willing to admit him and do the surgery at a "discount." But Andy needs $25,000 up front, by Monday morning before they will admit him. Democratic Underground has, thus far, raised just over $10,000 in a day and a half, which is amazing in and of itself and speaks volumes about the person we are trying to save.

You ask, why is Andy YOUR friend?

The man is a tireless advocate for each and every one of us, and has dedicated heart and soul to correcting the problems with the voting machines in this country, so that EVERY person's vote will count. I have personally worked with Andy on voter-verified paper ballot issues here in Pinellas County.

?Where did that come from? Because if she's saying that he was diagnosed in January, why would there be sites out there that say he was going in for testing of his liver function in Feb? Like this one:

Doesn't add up because on CU there was an article that stated that there is a doctor that JH would refer patients to for Whipple surgery because THAT Doc was so good. I'll go find it after my bike ride though~
