Funny you should mention ID's.
Note this comment from AllisonInSeattle on Mon May 2nd, 2005 at 15:19:01 PDT at DailyKOS in response to AnonymousArmr's asking questions about Andy's fund-raising:
"I posted this elsewhere -- recently Andy took in a young man who'd been tossed out by his mother. He talked about how the kid "just needed a little help", and spent hours trying to re-establish photo ID for him."
How does one "re-establish" photo ID? It's a simple process to get a replacement for a state-issued photo ID. Why would it take "hours"? http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/5/2/142624/0814

I actually read that last night and it sort of stuck out to me as well. I scratched my head a few times and moved on though. We need a master file for dumping Andy stuff in. These threads work pretty well, but a file without the chitchat would be nice.

Good question but it may not be so sinister.
Lost my DL once and sat at DMV for a couple hours because of long lines. Don't know anything about non-driver's photo ID's.

Yeah, I read that earlier & it struck me as odd too. If he just went with the kid to get a photo ID, I think referring it to "re-establishing" photo ID is an odd way to put it. Maybe the kid had no supporting documents & Undie knows people who can provide it. Who knows.
