Somebody e-mailed me that Elvis is alive and working at a 7-11 in Lodi, California.

CRAP! If they want the dream, do it in their own land. The country is full, close the doors.

Sounds like one of the usual suspects from around these parts.

Allowing illegals to stay in California alone is costing taxpayers NINE BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR. We can't "afford" to not secure the borders.
Now if W was as concerned about our own borders as he is the borders in Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan then W would place the National Guard behind the Border Patrol and secure the border. PERIOD!

We do not have the resources to protect our borders and Iraq.
A dandy red herring.

We do not have the resources to protect our borders and Iraq. One word: Minutemen
His plan is not amnesty!!!
One word: Welfare
It is a temporary worker program.
Yet again: Welfare
The US is seen as a beacon of hope for a better life,
I thought this was a hellhole, headed for a theocracy, with Saddam Hitler Bush as dictator.
shutting our doors is not an option, that is not what the US stands for.
No one said anything about shutting any doors. We're talking of illegals. Do you lock the doors to your house, at night? If so, why?
This program allows foreign citizens who are proud of their country's heritage to live the american dream.
If they are so proud of their heritage, let them change their own country into something they don't want to leave. Anyway, I thought the notion of "the American Dream" was arrogant.

Unless a major war gets going, immigration, illegal or legal, will be the big issue and topic for the '08 campaigns. Candidates who wish to run single-issue will do well. Immigration could be halted for ten to twenty years with no harm and it would give time to digest all the extra 45 million immigrant residents that have showed up by magic in the past fifty years. Anchor babies would be a difficult sub-issue, but it needs to be addressed.

We need to do everything possible to apprehend and deport ALL illegal immigrants, even if it takes years to complete.

I perhaps wouldn't have agreed with you a year ago, but now I am convinced we need the military or National Guard on our borders NOW. This place is becoming a real ****hole, blight everywhere, graffiti, cyclone fences around every vacant lot to keep the squatters out (I won't go into what they do on/to the property), not to mention our schools and streets being overcrowded, emergency rooms a disaster (try going there when you actually need to, if you've got 5 hours to spare sitting around, etc.
It has become painfully clear to many of us that our government, and especially this administration, thinks this is all just ducky.
Completely disgusted Southern California bump back to the top.

E-Mail em back and ask for their ATM Pin number and a Card from their bank account. If they are so eager to give a nations wealth to foreign invaders then let them give up theirs first........

They will be voting in droves in '06. The fraud vote will be HUGE. This can not wait until 2008. We may have NO VOICE left by then considering the recent actions of activist judges across the country.

If they're so proud of their country's heritage, then stay there. Make their homeland better. Don't suck up my tax money. They are not immigrants; they are breaking and entering.
To: truthkeeper
and at a cost of NINE BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR in California alone!!! that's almost ONE THIRD of the entire state budget deficit!!!
