Good editorial!
I don't see why our hospitals, ER's and all medical facilities cannot be declared "diplomatic zones". That way they are not officially part of the USA can so children born there are not automatically American citizens.
I plan on letting my insurance lapse and just telling my doctor that I am an illegal alien and I want free health care!
I don't have any insurance as it is, but since I'll be paying for illegals free health care, I plan on declaring myself an illegal next trip to the medical facility.
An in-law has been in ICU for over two weeks, and the waiting room looks like the UN already. Let's just say she's one of fewer than 10 ICU patients (out of about 50) whose tab isn't being picked up by taxpayers...makes you feel kinda queasy, doesn't it?

If we're going to have nationalized health care, then let's do it already. But enough of this "Oh, we refuse to have national health care...unless of course you are an illegal alien, in which case go right ahead!"
I'm now Ricardo Nothinejuez.
See you at the hospitale!

That won't stop people from having them at home, or elsewhere.
That "born in the U.S.A. ,instant citizen" carrot ought to be yanked. But, hey....that makes too much sense to our masters.
RANT OFF!!
FRegards,
We're already providing taxpayer funded health care to illegals and have been for many, many moons. As far as I can tell, this $1b just shifts part of the cost from the states to the feds.
States have hollered long and hard for the feds to pick up some of the costs of housing, feeding and caring for illegals. Now the feds are coughing up a billion to help defray health care costs. That's a good start in my book.
I have no insurance..
I should just renounce my citizenship,
go to Mexico and slip back over the boarder as a Mexican.
Looks like life for an illegal is a piece of cake.

Excellent article!
The illegals already have emergency medicaid. So this is for chronic illnesses. This is an outrageous, double whammy against the American taxpayer. So far as I am concerned anything that is not an emergency should be shipped back to Mexico asap. I am sick and tired of our government saying that if we don't pay for illegals maybe, just maybe they won't get medical care. What about Americans that can't afford medical care because it is so ballooned out of proportion to pay for these illegals that they can't get help?
Americans that can't afford medical care are forced to pay for illegals. This sucks.
I can hardy afford insurance for my family of four because of high taxes, yet it looks as if the government plans on bankrupting me to get free health care for mexicans. Anything for a vote!
Actually, it makes me feel kinda homicidal.

Then Just Die And Be Done With It!
(I swear, I don't have a compassionate bone left in my body!)
No, it is wrong. More and more people who live in Mexico just cross the border for free health care. Mexico has hospitals and doctors. There is no excuse for this. These are not emergencies. They come all the way from Monterray, Mexico just for free health care. A lot of these people are very, very wealthy.
