Hell, compared to the Schiavo threads, the ones about Laura's standup were a visit to gramma's house.

There's an underlying reality to all this, though. I've seen folks who seem to be so emotionally connected to one particular political leader or another that any criticism of the leader prompts a response that seems exaggerated and way out of proportion. And, I've seen other folks for whom faith seems to no longer hold any mystery, wonder or doubt - without hesitation, they speak about spiritual matters with a level of absolute certainty that might be expected only from someone who has already been to Heaven and back many times.

Anyway, the upshot is that the forum has become a very uncomfortable place for some very good people. ;-)

Yeah, but I wouldn't have touched the Schiavo story with a ten foot cyber pole. That was a no-no at the time. It was too much of a visceral issue.
