Oh really? They are the ones demanding our judges get appointed. They are the ones pushing the culture of life. they are the ones that are protecting marriage. They've done pletny and saved this country from cultural destruction.

where did I say that all that was bad? My point was that a focus on economic conservatism only got us Ford, Rockefeller, etc. Reagan incorporated those things but ALSO was teh father of the modern SOCIAL conservatism. You dont see that because you want to be a bigot and blast religious conservatives.

OK, I don't have any plans of going 3rd party, I just wish the republicans would do what we voted them in to do.

LOL as in 'jellyfish'? Nah, jellyfish are way to advanced an organism they actually can DEFEND themselves with stingy nematocysts...I'd rather describe the GOP as a "sea cucumber".

This timid and lazy echinoderm will evert it's stomach and other nasty bits when scared and confronted. It's WORSE than being French!

I don't know of course what you voted them in to do, but the list of accomplishments in 90 days is not too shabby.

There was a tort reform bill, there was Senate approval of drilling in Anwar, there is a list of good conservative judges put forward again waiting for Senate Approval, there is the death tax repeal near completion, there is a conservative hell raiser nominated for UN Ambassador. There seems to be serious action on maneuvering and positioning for appointment of a conservative Supreme Court Justice.

Imagine the grief being experienced by the losers. Their lives are now miserable.

Smile, Have a nice cup of coffee and a ham biscuit. Life is really pretty good.

You're the one who's resulted to hurling insults, the clearest sign of a lost argument.

You've yet to point out a single concrete 'thing' that the social conservatives have done to 'save our country from cultural destruction'. Abortion is still legal, gays can still tie the knot in some states, the assault on the 2nd amendment rights continues, and this country is more polarized than ever. Sorry, and without insulting you, but I just don't see how I've been 'saved from cultural destruction'.

Keep your head in the sand and keep believing that things are rosy due to social conservatism. Reality is a far cry from your point of view.

Clearly through your posts you have a deep hatred for social conservatives. They are, in fact, the bedrock of the party and have every reason to be involved, as much or more so than those who are just economic conservatives. We have made progres--I guess you missed all the state amendments being passed on gay marriage. I guess you missed the cultural drive in this country on abortion, and how its less acceptable now than it was just 10 years ago. All of these things, just like on economic issues, take time, and progress occurrs over time. Again, social conservatism really did not even take hold until the early 90's after Reagan really inspired the movement. It's growing and growing while economic conservatism is declining.

You should really become a Democrat with some of your views--you are more in line with their ideology.

Nope. I just think that, politically, you're getting 'played' for votes. Which isn't your fault, but the fault of the RINOs you elect. Kinda like the way Clintax played to the tree huggers, gays and minorities to get elected...then spent 8 years doing nothing for them.

"I guess you missed the cultural drive in this country on abortion, and how its less acceptable now than it was just 10 years ago. "

Less acceptable? Probably. Illegal? Nope. Again, that's not the fault of the electorate...but the fault of the elected.

"It's growing and growing while economic conservatism is declining. "

Sadly (the decline of econ. conservatism being what's sad), you're correct. If I have trouble finding work, feeding my family, providing healthcare for my family, and saving for my future, my concerns about what gays do behind closed doors drops exponentially. In fact, I honestly don't care what people do behind closed doors as long as it's between consenting adults. But I'm an old-school conservative who has learned from history that morality legislation never works and that the gov't has no business telling people how to run their personal lives, because that doesn't work either and most gov't officials are as corrupt (if not moreso) than the average citizens they claim to represent.
