Should the Border Patrol be replaced by private what?

Posted on 04/23/2005 8:43:08 PM PDT by onyx eyes

Poll: Should the Border Patrol be privatized and manned by volunteer citizens. Posted on FR.

What the hell kind of question is that? where I come from, (Florida),privatization means that somebody from some other state or country is going to do the work. So, how can volunteers do the job that normally goes to India, Idaho, Thailand, etc.?

TOPICS: Government
KEYWORDS: aliens; borderpatrol; privatized; replaced; what
Just struck me as odd, let's say. But, I will sign up for ten days, out of my vacation time, anyways.

A stupid one...

However, let me re-phrase the question:

"Should President Bush get off his @ss and finally let the Border Patrol to do its job instead of forcing fed up vigilantes citizens to do it?"

However, let me re-phrase the question:

Should Bay Buchanan and Tancredo donate their PAC Moolah to the volunteers?

U.S. Constitution Article 1 Section 8 Clause 15:

"The Congress shall have Power to provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections

and repel Invasions;"

U.S. Constitution Article 4 Section 4:

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,

and shall protect each of them against Invasion;"

As long as President Georgente Fox-Bush fails to employ federal House-Cleaners to disinfect the problem.

Naughty.

Wild concept, ain't it? I mean focusing on the domestic instead of enforcing the border of foreign countries.

Yep, I can see it now:

1. The Border Patrol is privatized, and U.S. firms contracted to supply the border patrol agents.

2. Illegal Mexican U.S. Border agents.

3. Later we wonder why the inmates are running the asylum.

privatization - The conversion of a public enterprise to a private enterprise.

So, the border patrol function would go from the government to private citizens. Pretty easy to understand.

What about making the border patrol a branch of the military, like the Coast Guard? Volunteer force, etc. The bases could be built along the border, military compound style. I think that would actually be a good idea.
Two years service, instead of four.
Heck, I'd volunteer, since I already live in south Texas...

I believed for years that the 'Coast Guard and Border Patrol' should be ONE military unit...

2yrs commitment, I'd do that.
