hmmmm14 year olds can make contracts?? Don't think so.
It's bullsh**. This is circulating among every anti war site out there.
Uh, yeah, sure, a Pentagon spokesman would make this statement . . .
Wait until DU gets hold of it. Numerous angry, raging smiley's will be posted.
Sounds like crap to me but DUmmies don't let reality get in the way of their fantasies. There are a few problems with this story.
For starters the kids parents would be required to OK the kid signing up and I doubt there could be a legal obligation when he turns 18.
A 14 year old's signature isn't worth crap.
It's probably an april fools joke but I can't find where the magazine admits that, or snopes. I have a friend who wants proof that it's wrong! haha
We know its a joke article, and your friend should know this as well. But evidence that it is would be that this pentagon spokesman does not exist anywhere on the web prior to this article.
Someone with DU posting abilities really needs to post this on DU and a link to it on this thread.
Charlie Rangel will show up with his: See, they want to draft 14 year olds now.....and they're all poor and black.
You mean a link to the article, I bet. Let them bite and lets see how far they go before they get yanked.
/no DU posting rights
14 y/o would NEVER ne allowed to sign a contract---ever.
Not even with parental consent.
Why doesn't mommy try to get the kid to do better than solid "C's, and if he's sleeping till noon, he's getting too many zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Color him: Future welfare recipient!!
The argument poor working class kids have little chance to make it into college on their own is complete bullsh*t. There are so many low income and minority scholarships and grants available there is no excuse that you can't afford college. Unless your a middle class white guy like who had to work his butt off fulltime to afford school loans because I couldn't qualify for any grants.
