I took the ribbon for tolerance.

I may be off base here, but "tolerance" as we know it is far different from "tolerance" as the activist movements are using it today. They are using the word "tolerance" as a vehicle to establish normalcy in otherwise unnatural, unsafe, and immoral practices. The truth is, we don't have to, and we shouldn't tolerate homosexuality because it spreads deadly diseases and is deemed immoral by all of the world's major religions.

We all need to and do tolerate homosexuals. We shouldn't Tolerate homosexuality. Love the sinner hate the sin, although I'm not Christian or anything really. What that club did was have flyers with pictures of young men who had been killed for being gay, like Mathew Sheppard. Really to equate Gay Pride with belief in Tolerance as if they are interchangeable. No one here is for killing homosexuals, I'm for stronger penalties for people who do cruel things like that to anyone.

It all depends on what the meaning of "tolerance" is.

If we as a society keep redefining the words that make someone uncomfortable. We will soon have a meaningless language, or a language in which the words mean virtually anything given the circumstances.

When my son was in the sixth grade, the school counselor was telling a group of children that it wasn't nice to tell someone that they didn't like what s/he was saying or doing because it might hurt that person's feelings.

My son laughed and stated that it was "His first amendment right if he wanted to state his opinion on the matter."

Several other students, shouted out in agreement, "Yeah, he's right, it IS our first amendment right to do that."

Needless to say, the teacher was dumbfounded, and quickly changed the subject.

The following year, it was stated at the start of the school year that "freedom of speech stopped at the school doors."

If this isn't a signal of where the liberal agenda is trying to take our young kids, then I don't know what is.
