But when laws become unjust.

The only reason we ever heard of Terri Schiavo is because her parents objected to Michael's decision to remove the feeding tube, eight years ago. Had they agreed with him, the tube would have been removed.

Thousands of times a week, all over the country, the same decision is agreed to by all involved, and tubes are removed.

Change the laws, and write a living will.

You make my point. But this case was unique in many ways. Most feeding tubes removed are for terminal patients. Don't confuse yourself and others and rationalize what was done here. We all saw what it was. You can't confuse the issue like a child would, by saying "But Johnny did it too." We are on a slippery slope. In Cruzan the supreme court allowed the respirator off on "Clear and Convincing", and now we have taken away food and water. We sent clear messages to the entire world and to heaven and hell, by reviewing the case over and over. We have no excuse. WE STARVED AN OTHERWISE VIABLE LIFE TO DEATH. We did it with guns and forced HER parents to stand by and watch. Michael Schiavo didn't act in a vacuum. We all share the guilt. We all have allowed our system to slip into this mutation of justice. Don't think that the innocent blood of these children and helpless adults doesn't rise up to God. If we don't look at ourselves and make corrections, it will soon overwhelm us. We need to learn that there are greater things in this world then ourselves and our precious comfort. We need to learn anew to set aside convenience and do what is right and just, not just for those who have voices, but for those who don't. I believe in good and evil. In a dark side that thrives and feeds on the death of innocents. A dark side which protects with great fervor it's diet of human sacrifice. A dark side which finds itself well feed by the actions of my nation, and well served by its self proclaimed Judicial system.

So there are thousands of cases like Terri's? A woman who was placed in hospice even though she wasnt terminal? A woman who's only deviances from normal are brain damage and an inibility to swallow?

For all anyone knows, Terri had minimal thougths but the thoughts made her life more enjoyable than any of us knew. Yet we convict her to slow and painful death via malnutrition.

Let me say this again... We made a woman who was mentally disabled, had problems swallowing and wasn't able to communicate die a slow, agonizing death by refusing to administer food. A woman who needed no assistance in breathing or to keep her heart pumping, and we refused to allow her the basics of life which is small doses of food.

Even if you agreed with the rulings the method of which she was convicted to die was cruel and inhumane to any rational person.
