Maureen Dowd v. Democracy (Schiavo Case)
I Disagree With Maureen Dowd.com ^ | 3/27/05 | Gregory F. Bullock

Posted on 03/27/2005 10:51:34 AM PST by gopwinsin04

Maureen Dowd may be living in some kind of undocumented, undiagnosed Persistant Vegetative State. (as a columnist) She smiles, she blinks and sasses Republicans but these may be nothing more than reflexive actions.

Her loved ones, how I pity them should indeed consider removing her analytical apparatus. It's on the fritz.

Her latest moribound Op-Ed 'Delay, Deny and Demagogue' is worthy of its own piece of emergency legislation. Of it one can only say 'Enough.'

Ms. Dowd's invocation of the film 'Weekend at Bernies' (when describing the Schiavo case) is all too typical of her crudity.

Her performance during a recent appearance on 'Meet the Press' suggests a weekend at Maureen's: Slumping from side to side being propped in turn by her colleagues.

Occasionally, she interrupted their cogent remarks with remarkably inane ramblings: 'I'm an old fashioned gal...impudent pino noir,' what wit!

Her unremittent whines from the left about the Republican judical nominees grate more with each passing day.

Democrats, unable to win authority democratically, can only scold or beg for mercy from the flat on the mat eight count that was administered to them in November 2004.

With Dr. Howard Dean now the democratic corner man, the crowd is filing out, the fight is over.

Ms. Dowd is evidently untroubled by the political wrangling occuring among the left in the name of, among other things, discrediting Rep. Delay.

But when he plays a little politics of his own (to save Terri Schiavo's life) Ms. Dowd goes absolutely wild.

How hypocritical of Dowd to criticize Republicans for honing their political instincts when she (and her party) can't choose an undergarment without meditating at length on what her consitutients will make out of it.

Sounds like the beginning of an extremely popular mass movement.

Which man is it that Dowd lost out on that's made her so disagreeable? The only other women I've seen with that much bile in them are the perpetual spinsters who couldn't get a man if they tried....and Dowd ain't that bad looking (a bit of shelf wear, but nice legs), so what's got her panties in a bunch so bad?

Maureen Dowd has a BA in English from Catholic U of America. She is suffering from the delusion that she is part of the ruling elite of the country, like many members of the press. She does not recognize that there are many who have studied longer, and worked harder, taken more risks, and accomplished a lot more than writing a column in the New York Times. Deluded sense of self importance.

With that wizened face, Dowd looks like she's being deprived of hydration.

I really get tired of the tacky catch phrases that are supposed to be clever. After the tsunami disaster the word tsunami was thrown around and now it's persistent vegetative state. These are terrible things that stayed in the headlines for a while and it should not be made light of.

Maureen already struck out with Aaron Sorkin. Maybe she will finally settle for Charlie Rose.
