I haven't seen or read everything about this case but I find it hard to believe, if there were accusations of abuse or attempted murder (from the insulin injections) that nothing would have happened.

This guy isn't a Kennedy, why would the whole state of Florida conspire to help him kill his wife?

So you have a higher tendency to listen to the ones who corroborate your belief. That is fine. But I was under the impression that the insulin thing was discussed recently by a nurse.
