I'm not talking about the risk to Jeb Bush, I'm talking about the risk to our freedom from government! What if Jeb Bush decides you are a bad parent and forcibly takes your children from you?
Man, where have you been? Jeb Bush and all 50 governors can do that now, if the departments under their control claim that you have committed an act that allows it. The only thing you can do is go to court to get them back.
The same situation would exist with Terri. He'd act pursuant to the police power to prevent murder, and then Michael Schiavo would have to sue to get her back in his control. There would be no change in the right of the state to act to protect their citizens. The only issue would be whether the state was correct to believe that a murder was taking place. And, in the course of that investigation, maybe some of the allegations about inadequate care and Terri's medical condition could be examined.
what if govt (courts) go the other direction (highly more likely) and start authorizing active euthanasia for the infirm, and mentally incapacitated?
This death by starvation and dehydration is inreality, active euthanasia.
