If his actions were deemed to be illegal, the only redress available would be for the House to impeach him

Hmmm, I guess I just don't understand legal matters too well. It just amazes me that taking action to save someone's life could be deemed illegal. It seems to me that what SHOULD be illegal, is a judge allowing the "husband" to make the determination to end her life, in the absence of any declaration on Terri's part that that is indeed what she wants (other than Michael Schiavo's hearsay assertion that he and Terri discussed it some time before she became ill, and she supposedly told him she would want to die).

In our youth we often say things like "If I'm ever in that state, I want to die." But do we say we want to be starved to death? No living will exists, just the "husband's" spin.

I agree with you completely, but, the actions you avocate have been the basis of challenges to POTUS before.

My point was that the only REAL risk to the President by taking this course is possible impeachment. Given the current makeup of Congress, I don't see that happening.

Those that risk little, gain little.
