Its called MONEY. If she dies, and they are still legally married - he gets all of the money being held in trust from the outcome of the malpractice suit.
If he gives up guardianship, divorces her, and allows her parents to have her - He and his 'new woman' get nothing.

Cash is King. My question - what does Judge Greer have to gain from all of this? That is something to ponder. Does he really want to go down in history as the Judge who refused a woman the right to survive? I wonder...

I guess it all comes down to money. The love of money is truly the root of all evil.

And as for judge Greer - I'm clueless on this one. As far as I'm concerned, Greer should be dismissed on ethical reasons alone. All he had to do was deny Michael the privelege of killing his wife. What happened to preserving life when in doubt? There is more than a little doubt here and I find it so disturbing.
