The problem as I see it, Destro, is that the judge has steadfastly refused to allow independent doctors and medical experts to evaluate the situation. Instead, like an arrogant autocrat, he has made up his mind, refused to admit evidence, and failed to recuse himself in the first place when there is a conflict of interest.

While I certainly understand that it is possible for people to get worked up by false hopes over a loved one's condition and for things to take on a very emotional aspect, there are just too many sordid facts in the behavior of Michael Schiavo, his lawyers, the euthanasia groups, and the judge for me to accept Greer's ruling seriously as impartial and just.

Florida "law" didn't say she should die - a misguided judge did.

No, a misguided judge decided that Terri had unequivically expressed a desire not to remain alive by artificial means. The misguided judge reached that decision after a trial, and indeed there have been mutilple trials and hearing on the various issues over the last 15 years. The decision of the misguided judge has also been upheld by every appellate court that has reviewed the determinations of the misguided judge. The problem here is not with the misguided judge, but with Floriduh law, which apparently allows a court to make a decision in a case like this based upon the oral statements that the incapacitated person allegedly made before she became incapacitated, rather than requiring the same evidence required to prove a will -- that is, a written document, signed by the testator, witnessed, and acknowledged.

michael schiavo's statement that terri would not want to be kept alive in these circumstances is nothing more than unsubstantiated hearsay. he is tainted beyond belief by his conflict of interest in this case which should completely discredit anything he has to say about her wishes.

Since this went to court - facts were considered by a judge. No more need be said.

You forgot to add "May his name be praised" after judge. Make sure you kneel and kiss the ring as well and offer your proper oblations to this infallible individual.

Greer is only concerned about protecting his judicial authority. (my courtroom my rules)

Felos only cares about his right to die cause at the expense of all else. (everyone is just a pawn)

Michael Schiavo wants no ex-wife alive. How many other divoced guys would rather their wifes were just dead instead of alive "somewhere."?

Medical testimony stopped being relevant to the reality a Loooooooong time ago.

Do you agree with me that if someone is in an actual vegetative state as diagnosed by doctors that you would be in favor of 'pulling the plug?' But that's not the issue here. There is no written directive, AND there is no pulling of a plug. They are with holding FOOD AND WATER. She is being SENTENCED to death, committing no crime, and having no fair trial. If this was about the right to choose which medical extremes to stay alive I wouldn't be involved, I would say it was a family matter. This is murder.

Thanks for clarifying. If she did in fact tell it to him, and in private, then yes it would be unsubstantiated hearsay. I didn't know there was a conflict of interest on his part. What's the story with that? (Still getting the story here, thanks for sharing)

"You know, I wouldn't want to be artificially kept alive in a situation such as this and if you people did this to my wife and family I'd come back and haunt every single one of you.'

I think you are brain dead. Therefore I order you to pull your own plug.

On another thread it was said the judge greer was a probate judge. When he went to where he is now he took Terri's case with him. According to that.....Terri is Michale's property, to do with as he wishes with his property.

Gladly. I'm confident they are rolling over in their graves at what Congress has attempted to do.

Then it is obvious that you have not read any of their writings, for unlike you they knew and wrote that without morality our form of government would not last.

exactly. I can almost see them, rubbing their little hands together and smiling, "It's almost done, my pretty, you'll be happy now, I am SO sure I know better than your parents what's good for you, my pretty.." UGH. Notice they jump into every thread, trying to stir the pot?

Yes, you are right.

I hope I'm wrong, but seems to me Jeb Bush really doesn't care or he would have acted by now.

Terri is never going to improve. It's time to turn her over to God and let his plan for her be carried out.

Judge Greer is hoping and believing that Jeb Bush and the Republicans in Congress will just roll over. We'll see.
