Bah, no. They're liberal Kanadians, last I checked.
Perhaps, but they were inspired by Ayn Rand in 2112.
They're already in the pretentious falsetto techno art rock hall of fame, with Yes and Styx.
Yaawwwn! To each their own.
"Being here tonight made me realize that Rock 'n' Roll has become respectable. What a bummer." Ray Davies at the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame induction of the Kinks.
I couldn't agree more. Although it is a pretty neat place. I can't wait for the Rap and Hip Hop Hall of Fame.
The only "RUSH" deserving a place in a "Hall of Fame" is Limbaugh. No other entertainer has had more of an effect than he has, 20 million listeners a week dwarfs any message some Rock Band could muster
Your post reminded me of an adjustment I had to make teaching high school. My students all like Hip Hop. It has led to more than one end of the day discussion on how to disagree without being disagreeable when it comes to taste in music.
Oh? Isn't Alex going on trial this fall for assaulting a cop? Featuring this lovely Enquirer moment?
Yep, it happened. Nobody's perfect.
Rush, the band, should be in.
Rush Limbaugh, who started out as a R & R deejay, should be in, too.
I presume they have a deejay wing (they'd better!)
I'm a big fan of RUSH! I've seen them 3 times in concert and they are fantastic. BUT, I think the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is a complete farce.
"RUSH rocks, Permanent Waves is my favorite album from them."
After Jackson"Cure for Insomnia" Browne got in, I'm beginning to think Rush is too good for the Hall.
I agree about Permanent Waves, the musicianship on that record is unreal. Moving Pictures rates a close second.
I'm not sure if "nobody's perfect" is really a good characterization of that little episode, but it's certainly a long way from "no scandals" in any case. If that's your petition, you might think about revising that part of it ;)
I got hooked when Moving Pictures came out in 1981. They kind of hit the doldrums after Grace Under Pressure and did not pull out of it until Roll The Bones came out. The last few albums have been decent too.
Ok I'll consider your premise that the RNR Hall of fame might be a farce, but it would be good to see them get in just the same.
