Saving Terri Schindler-Schiavo Dustin Hawkins March 3rd, 2005
Upon learning of another life extension for Terri Schiavo, liberals went all apoplectic on me. If only Schiavo were a Guantanamo Bay detainee could we finally convince liberals to not rip the feeding tubes from her body in order to let her slowly starve to death. Or as liberals prefer: to let her die with dignity.
Schiavo, who has been severely disabled for over a decade is in the middle of a right-to-life (conservative version)/right-to-death (liberal version) battle. Schiavos husband Michael is living with another woman with whom he has fathered two children, bringing a whole new meaning to until death do we part. But I guess we know why she supposedly wouldnt want to live in such a state. Michael insists that she would have wanted to die. Her parents disagree.
Daniel Ruth, Tampa Tribune column-ditz, called proponents of letting Schiavo live part of a Redneck fiat. With liberals trying to change their image with the public, Redneck fiat is apparently the new Right Wing Conspiracy. I guess this will be part of the Democrats 2006 Southern Strategy. If being abhorrently pro-abortion and anti-military didnt grab those flag-waving religious rednecks attention, continuing to insult them while killing defenseless disabled women will really suck them in.
For all of their objections about the death penalty being used on allegedly retarded serial rapists and murderers, one would think liberals would go out of their way for Schiavo. Maybe even use the embryonic stem cell research excuse on us. But no, an extension of life for Terry falls on a left-wing misery scale somewhere in between the re-election of George W. Bush and the closing down of a Planned Parenthood clinic.
Liberals have gotten so upset over the thought of allowing Schiavo to live that they are even considering bringing in former Democratic VP nominee and trial lawyer (which is worse, you decide) John Edwards. Edwards, who was once able to allow an unborn baby be channeled through him in a court room, will surely be able to allow Schiavo to channel her energy to let us all know that, just as Michael insists, she really does want to die.
Thus far we have liberals going out of their way to make sure Al-Qaida terrorists are treated with TLC and serial rapists and murders are taken off of death row. We've always had liberals doing their part in the nations abortion business, and now we have them going after the severely disabled and the elderly. It will only be a matter of time before liberals start running around and deciding which citizens need to start dying with dignity. If being brain damaged is now reason enough to be put down, at least let liberals lead by example.
Schiavo is in the fortunate position of having loving parents who will do anything for her and who are not letting go, no matter her state. Refusing to feed Schiavo does more than just kill her. It will devastate the mom and dad that still deeply loves her and has been by her side for 15 years. But Michael is ready to move on. And the courts, as always, are ready to help him. As of this printing, Circuit Judge George W. Greer has authorized the removal of the nutrition and hydration for Terri Schiavo on March 18th, 2005.
Addition Case Facts: *Michael Schiavo refuses to divorce Terri and allow her parents guardianship. *Terri needs no special equipment to survive, just feeding and watering tubes. *Videos of Terri show she is active and alert, not in a "vegetative state"

Please inform everyone you know to call their Congressmen and Senators to support HR 1151 and S539 Incapcitated Person's Legal Prtection Act. (It's not much but it's something.)

If anyone knows the 800 number for Captiol Hill perhaps they can post it.
DCF is taking this to Appeals. Just heard this on the news.
I'm wondering why DCF hasn't just taken her into protective custody. I would think they have the power to do that, regardless of what Greer says.
