Loved disco then and still love it now....the ones who died from coke were in it for "the scene"; some of us legitimately loved REAL dancing, not today's hip-wriggling "ho" culture...
_______________________________
Me, too. I always detected a sort of racist component behind the anti-disco movement. Most of us who went to discoes really loved to dance. And, this may have added to the anti-disco mania, many of us were really good at it. I was one of them and drugs had nothing to do with it.

So, boogey oogie oogie.
: )

David Horowitz ought to know as he was right their demonstrating WITH them
____________________________
Yes, but he doesn't deny that and his books more than atone for what he freely admits was a horrific mistake in judgment. Plus he has done a great service by "outing" the Black Panthers for the gangland thugs they really were; as well as his outing of the left in general. He is truly an admirable conservative and for me, a personal hero who helped me with my own epiphany.

I had a similar experience. My women studies profs were both communists who tried to tell us how wonderful life was for women in China under communism.

Also, I went to the International Women's Year conference as a delegate in 1978 or 79 in Houston and was horrified when, after they passed a sweeping sexual preference resolution, the majority of the women started kissing each other with the MSM cameras rolling. I thought the convention was about International Women's rights? And the only "children's issue" they really wanted to deal with was abortion.

I felt alienated at the NOW meetings, at first I thought it was because I was very young, only 18 when I joined, but gradually realized it was because I was very straight.

"I am constantly amazed that the DUmmies...manage to draw newbies all the time."I believe it's a combination of idealism and naivete.

Where did my hippies go? Those wild and crazy people who touted free love, rode buses, made music and movies, those people who still today make us pause when we think of the era.

They only time they make me pause is when I have to step over them when I'm in NYC.

Aw come on! Ten Years After sucks. I can't imagine why anyone would watch a band that said, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, Goin' Home, for about ten years.

Hmmmm....Whatever happened to Tom McLaughlin? Just curious.
Wouldn't be surprised at all,if'n he really WAS Ward Churchill.I never was really impressed with Billy Jack;I thought the premise of the movie was, well, stupid.I mean, how much supreme stupidity does it take to go on top of a mountain, let a poisonous snake bite you over and over, then have some representative named Wachovia try & sell you a credit card?

I was joking about Slayer & Magadeath...although it would be hilarious if a metal or rap band covered that song.

Most of us who went to discos really loved to dance.

Over the years, I've found that the ones who really despise disco are (1) bad dancers (2) people who have no interest in dancing (3) drummers, because many of them lost their jobs to the dreaded Linn drum machine. This machine had rock-solid timing which many drummers then and now lack sorely.

BILLY JACK HAS A NEW MOVIE!!!

Billy Jack’s Crusade against an insane War & to Explore the possible Impeachment of George Bush & Richard Cheney

http://igoberserk.billyjack.com/index.php?menuID=Page&pid=70

The title is a bit long, but I am sure it is full of interesting bj-isms.

Billy has been busy:

Billy Jack’s Crusade will not be a documentary. It will be light years away from being a Fahrenheit 9/11. Billy Jack’s Crusade will be a full-length feature film, in a breakthrough film format, weaving together the genres of cinema verite, reality film, documentary and computer graphics into a unique full-length feature film never seen before.

Just like in the original Billy Jack, Billy Jack’s Crusade will be a non-stop powerful melodrama with several highly emotional love stories. Billy Jack and Jean will be “Obewon Kenobis” passing down their wisdom and mantle to a younger Billy Jack and Jean, today’s idealistic rebels struggling against all the elements destroying America today. Think of Forrest Gump whereby Forrest appears on screen and talks with John Kennedy, and you’ll get a hint of how real this unique film will be.

The new Billy Jack film will be the first film to launch a multi-faceted Moral, Political, Psychological & Spiritual Revolution restoring America to its core principle of being “the Only Nation Founded for a Moral Purpose.”
