GOOD GOVERNMENT AND MINORITY PROGRAMS, GONE BAD!

In the liberal state of California, more of us are giving less attention to our party affiliation, and more attention to fixing our problems.

Our new Governor has done a great job in the short time he's been in office. Many will argue this, but the bottom line is fiscal responsibility, and we can now see some light at the end of the tunnel.

However, there are some governmental and minority programs in California that need to be scrutinized very closely. That's probably true at the federal level, as well, but California is not a bad place to start, right Governor?

The California State Public Utilities Commission is in charge of monitoring the State's utility companies. One of the few privately-owned large utility companies in the United States is PG&E (Pacific Gas & Electric), headquarted in San Francisco. The Public Utilities Commission refused to get involved when there was a claim of conspiracy and/or corruption within PG&E's "Supplier Diversity Program."

It seems that a large Japanese Corporation, Ricoh, had one of its companies in the U.S., SAVIN Corporation, selling copiers directly to PG&E, after PG&E had chosen a woman-owned SAVIN Authorized Dealership to receive the new copier sales award.

There are currently criminal and civil claims pending on this case, but it is only a symptom of the problem. Let's hope Justice prevails, and this mess gets cleaned up.
