I have asked a lot of my friends at the Free Republic but I figured that was what you are there for. The Free Republic is not just a blog but it is a blog that DOES things and takes action when necessary. Not only does FR make you think, sometimes it makes you ACT and that is what makes it great. That and the people that participate who are the most patriotic people I know.
So, what do I want now? Three things actually.
1. Still need signatures for a Silver Star Flag for our wounded soldiers. We only have about 136 signatures and believe me folks the Pentagon will laugh if I send that in. Our wounded deserve a banner of their own. Please go here to check it out: http://www.petitiononline.com/12251952/petition.html
2. Law enforcement equipment is still needed in Iraq. Check out the donation page at: http://home.att.net/~steven.newton1/donate.html
3. And a new one. The Afghanistan Police need donations but not what you would think. They need socks; gloves, shoes, boots and D cell batteries for their flashlights. Not much to give is it? And you dont have to be in law enforcement to give a pair of socks. Please go here for the address to send your donations: http://home.att.net/~steven.newton1/afghanhelp.html
I think it would be a great idea if you put on your box or envelope, FROM THE FREE REPUBLIC. Or if you feel frisky, maybe even FReeper! And when you sign your name and make a comment on the petition put proud to be a FReeper!
Now that would get some attention.
Thank you all and God bless.

You think FR is a blog?
Your heart's in the right place, but please don't refer to FR as a blog. Lotsa folks around here strenuously object to that! :-)
I just signed it.
137 Signatures Total, at 7:24PM, EST, 3/2/05.
Hells, bells; we need some help, S N.
I'm gellin' like a felon :)
Sorry everyone about the blog thing. Heck I'm stupid
Steve
Sorry.
Like I said. I'm a little slow.
Steve
THANK YOU
GOD BLESS
STEVE
Don't worry about it :) I didn't mean to jump on you.
By the way, I forgot to tell everyone that the Pentagon said it would take a "substantial" number of people who want a banner for our wounded.
So, again, I thank you my friend. Together we ARE substantial.
Steve
No problem; thanks for doing your good work!
You didn't buddy. But ya got to admit that I need to FREEP a little more. And I never take it wrong. Everyone is always helpful. AND PATRIOTIC.
Thanks bud
Steve
