This is simply another case of "industrial activism" when groups like NOW, the NEA, most labor unions and others outlive their usefulness, have accomplished their original charter and goals and are desperately seeking some reason for continued existence to justify the salaries they are being paid. They all ultimately turn to extremism beyond reason. Government typically employs a device called a 'sunset' clause to deal with this. The problem in the private sector is there is not a way to get these people to shut up and admit they have outlived their usefulness.
