I think the next word to make the Google political correctness list will be "Protestant." I'm not kidding. I've noticed a trend in the past few years where Protestants object to being called Protestants. Anybody else notice that?

You have missed an important issue here.
The limit on the number of search real engines (currently 3) leads to the potential for the creation of a gatekeeper function.

If the search engines don't index a site, or index it improperly, it effectively is invisible. In addition there is the risk that site way be censored because of political pressure. Google has already made an agreement with China to limit access to sites not sanctioned by the government.
