Remember. ..Condi is not just a "woman". . .she is a conservative, African-American woman. . .she cuts into other demographics that would scare the bejesus out of the Dems. . .Hillery, by the way, the last time I checked was ALSO a woman.

One more thing. .Dr. Rice would make a great president and during her campaign she would more than reassure her doubters that she is highly qualified and capable. Another thing. . .probably a lot of those 20% are older white men who will have four more years to die off.

There's a lot of Christian conservatives who won't vote for a woman (I Tim 2:12). They all voted for George Bush, but they won't bother to show at the polls if the GOP nominates Condi (who also has said she's "pro-choice", which will hurt the pro-life vote). The GOP loses not 20% of their votes, but 40% (remember the 20% from the poll yesterday was from all Americans, not just GOP voters who are slightly over one half). You're wrong about Condi beating Hillary, it won't happen and we'll all be very very sad. Not worth the risk.
