I think you underestimate your fellow Republicans.

I don't, really. They see through this "opaque to serve her purposes" Clintonian smokescreen. Who said, "I'm pro-choice"? Oh, and think about that Drudge Report headline: 'Condoleezza Rice's coat and boots speak of sex and power'...

Every Christian conservative in the country (the ones who vote in GOP primaries) has seen it by now. You know Drudge is pro-life, right? The "matrix" image isn't going to work, and 10-to-1 Rice loses if she goes for the nomination. Don't worry about it, because that's a good thing:

Hillary Leads Condi in 2008 Match-Up

Seven point lead... I would get to the polls to vote for Condi in a general election (thankfully, I won't have to). But my old boys in the red states wouldn't show for Condi. They don't take kindly to threats and would put up with another Clinton to prove it, 95% of the 40% will sit on their hands. But that hypothetical isn't going to happen.

I don't know that Allen, Frist, Rudy, or Jeb!, for that matter, can beat Clinton's margin among women and minorities.

Wrong. Now tell me who is underestimating Republicans?

With all due respect, pardner, I'm a conservative too. I vote in primaries. It's my party too. And I will bet you dimes, dollars to doughnuts that most Christian Conservatives. Say, 90% of them, admire and respect Condi Rice. Please don't pretend to speak for all Christian Conservatives. That's just illogical and fatuous.

You don't "own" anybody. You don't "speak" for your "boys" in the "Red States". You can't say that they would sit on their hands and let Hillary into the White House just to prove that if people don't play their ballgame, they will take their ball and go home.

In fact, I strongly suspect that you don't know what your talking about when you peddle stuff like that cornpone above. Citing a poll that show's Hillary Clinton beating Condi Rice by only seven points this early in the game does not exactly prove your point. HRC has been in the news for TWELVE years now.

And she can't even break fifty? Against a woman who just came out of Bush's shadow; who was generally unknown outside of policy circles until a little over a year ago? WE knew who she was, but we're activists. Regular people didn't pay much attention to her until she had been nominated to SOS.

So please, don't pretend to speak for others just quite yet. Meantime; you might sit down and wonder why all us folks over at Team Condi have got all the action after having spent a few thousand bucks on buttons and bumper stickers, while some Senators and Governors are finding out that the serious checks they wrote out to consultants down on K Street aren't exactly paying off. There's bad mojo going among some Republican grandees.

Okay, I accept the fact that you don't like this woman. Fine. You want to pretend that the Republican Party is your personal plaything? Go right ahead. However, do try and remember Ronald Reagan's 11th Commandment:" thou shalt not speak ill of another Republican."

Be Seeing You,

Chris
